Enviromental Justice
At LB Latino Civic Association, we strive to ensure that the Latino community is engaged in making meaningful environmental changes. Our mission is to create a more sustainable future for everyone. From developing hands-on projects to engage our members with the environment to directly educating people on how to preserve our planet, we aim to raise awareness on the importance of environmental conservation. We believe that by working together, we can create a brighter future for generations to come.
Random Acts Of Cleanup
We develop practical projects and raise awareness of our own pollution-producing behavior. Floaters can affect the community with severe flooding by blocking drains, causing safety issues and other potential damage. Potential toxins are spread between air, soil and water in the community that can be released through photodegradation or direct human dermal exposure. Our goal is to improve and protect local waterways, educate residents and youth about the negative effects of floating plastics, cigarette butts, balloons, straws and litter.
SOFA (Suburban Organic Farming in Action)
After seeing increasing health issues during the past few years we were inspired to combat this issue from the root. Thus inspiring SOFA (Suburban Organic Farming in Action) program. Through research we found that organic food was too expensive. We discovered that growing our own food would be cheaper, easier, and healthier. We would teach them how to farm to lead them to healthier lives so they can "Dare to Soar". We're set to launch the program in Spring of 2023!
